USSR Space watch Rare 2609 Vintage

HISTORY

The RAKETA “Copernic” watch was first released in the early 80s and it was not by chance that it was named after the great astronomer. The design is built around the idea of Nicolaus Copernicus about the structure of the Universe, which in the 16th century made a real revolution in human consciousness - the Sun is in the center of the Solar System, and the Earth and the Moon revolve around it (and not vice versa, as previously thought).
The large circle (minute hand) symbolizes the Earth, which revolves around the Sun in one year, while the small circle (the hour hand) symbolizes Jupiter revolving around the Sun in 12 years: of course, the hour hand spins 12 times slower than the minute hand on the dial!
