This is a Unique Hard to Find Whimsy Bird like ceramic cookie jar painted in a bright green with dark speckling, handles look like wings, and a painted wooden face designed by LaGardo Tackett. There is a lightening of paint on the left side near the bottom (photo 6), possible signature or just a light rub. Approx. Dimensions are 6" tall x 7" wide x 8" long. LaGardo Tackett operated a studio in Southern California and produced exceptional architectural mid-century modern pottery pieces during the fifties. Excellent condition. Small chip on the base and a very small hairline on the bottom. Does not affect the piece. There is a lightening of paint on the left side on the bottom - signed or just paint lightening? Lid does not fit tightly. Look at photos carefully as they serve as part of the description. Please ask questions.
