Vintage wool rug likely made by the Andean peoples of Peru or Bolivia - probably a baby's blanket or frazada.  Measures 38 by 40 inches.

Bought at an estate sale, so not sure of its provenance.   It's a bit unusual ...  I've seen lots of SA textiles with finely woven geometric patterns, woven from alpaca wool, but this is not typical - the weave is looser - possibly sheep's wool - and has a border.  Given the pattern, wear, and the general "look" of the piece, I'd say it's 50-75 years old.  Any informed opinions welcomed!
