RARE COMPLETE SET OF
THE FAMED "CHERRY" NOTES of NAUMBURG

To this day, the Cherries of Naumburg Germany are know for their unique delectable flavor, plumpness and color. The Cherry Festival of Naumberg attracts visitors from all over the world. It turns out that those very cherries may well have saved the town in 1432!!

In that year, a vast legion of Hussites under the command of Prokop the Great (google his name) laid siege to the town, surrounding it on all sides.
A humble teacher is said to have led his pupils outside the gates of the beleaguered city to beg the Hussite commander Andreas Prokop for mercy, while making an offering of the town's reserve of the finest cherries known to man. As a result the Hussites spared the town! To this day the cherry festival is known as the Hussite Cherry Festival.

The legend is commemorated in the song "Die Hussiten zogen vor Naumburg" (The Hussites marched on Naumburg) written by Karl Friedrich Seyferth in 1832.  It is also commemorated on this exceptionally nice high quality high grade Notgeld currency set!!
