1964 Dodge Dart 270 Sedan
This Dart was purchased new by a lady who lived to be 104
and has only 38,902 original miles. The
second owner purchased it from the family and used it to
transport his surfboard a short distance to the beach on the other side of town in the summer. It had surfboard racks installed when I
purchased it last year and has been in storage since his last use back in 2014.
I have too many vehicles in my collection and am in process
of reducing it from 7 down to 2. I do not have the winter storage or time at this point to maintain a larger collection. This
is the first of my 2 Mopar vehicles to go.
The 2nd is a soon to be listed 1983 Imperial.
This car is truly a time capsule! I will do my best to describe it as
accurately as possible.
INTERIOR
As reflected in the photos, the interior of the vehicle is
extremely nice. The dash is in perfect
condition and the seats are not worn or torn.
The carpet shows some normal wear but is not worn through anywhere. The headliner and door panels are in extremely
nice condition as well as reflected in the photos. The only options on this Dart is the push button automatic transmission, power steering and factory AM
radio. The steering wheel is solid with no cracks.
EXTERIOR
The exterior appears to be completely original with
patina. Finished in light green, there
are areas where the lady appears to have made some contact with the
garage door frame. There are some
scuffs, light dents and scratches as reflected in the photos. The only rust perforation noted is at the
base of the front fenders. Both are quarter
to half dollar size and in the normal location.
There is also one small spot to the front of the left fender. The front bumper is bent somewhat as the last
owner used a tow bar to transport it from the barn it was stored in to his
garage. The trunk has some paint patina as
also reflected in the photos. Radio
antenna mast is broken. I have done nothing more to the exterior than wash it as the patina adds to its character in my opinion.
MECHANICAL
The vehicle is equipped with a 225 Slant 6 engine and automatic
transmission. I have recently replaced the fuel pump due to a leak, the 59-year-old original coil and spark plugs. The only known mechanical items I am aware of
to get the vehicle on the road include:
While it is a 4 door, it is a very cool time capsule of a
vehicle. All original with low miles and
patina.
The vehicle is located in Amherst, NH, approximately an hour
outside Boston. I am happy to assist
with buyer arranged transportation if necessary. The vehicle is on a transferable New
Hampshire registration as NH does not title vehicles over 20 years old. A copy of the registration and bill of sale
with be provided.
A $500 deposit will be required for the winning bidder and
full payment via EFT / ACH or cash prior to or at time of pickup.
