1862 ANTIQUE CDV PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM - RED LEATHER & BRASS BOUND CLASPS - 25 CDV'S

Circa 1862 a beautiful small CDV album containing 25 carte de visites as found.  Gift inscription for 1862 inside cover.

Stunning red leather binding with deep embossed decoration,  decorative gilt brass bands to covers and spine. Brass bound clasps and board edges with gilt page edges.  The album has spaces for 50 photographs.

In good antique condition with some wear to the spine cover edges.  Binding a little loose but holding up.  The clasps are in good order and close correctly.  Some grubbiness to the fore and end papers,  some foxing and age/handling marks to the pages,  occasional window tear/loss. The CDV's are in average to good condition,  and date from the 1860's to the 1870's.  Other marks and wear from age and use.

Album 16.5cm x 12.5cm approx.
