The original, handmade oil painted piece was done on wood.  A nice choice of rich saturated colors of Maroon colored drapery and a geometric traditional Oriental rug make a perfect background for these two siblings. Very detailed and bright strokes are visible behind the glass. This was originally purchased this way.  I do not see a legible signature and will not attempt to open the back.

Total  measurements of the beautiful handmade wood gesso gold frame 19 X 22 1/4 inches and viewing are is approx 14 1/2 X 11 1/2  inches.
