STEINWAY & SONS Model I 54" Professional Upright • Mahogany Lacquer • c.1901

An extremely rare and beautiful 1901 Steinway & Sons 88-key 54" Model I from the Golden Age of Steinway piano building!

We absolutely love this Model I Steinway & Sons upright - the 54" Model I was only made for a relatively short period of time. Having gone through a total restoration in 2008, this piano is impressive and the restoration has returned the piano to all its original glory. This was one of the final 54" tall uprights as Steinway & Sons moved from 54" uprights down to the 52" Steinway Model K.

If you're interested in investing in the gold standard of American-made luxury pianos - look no further. The impressive scale designs and tones that these designs generate are incomparable.

Boasting a very handsome mahogany lacquer case, two solid Doric columns, united by stretcher to corresponding pilasters, support the keyboard. The top is also supported by similar pilasters with moulding on upper edge of frame front and sides. One upper and one lower front panel. The original ebony blacks and ivory whites are in place with only one small repaired chip on an upper white key noted (see photo).
