Rare antique 19th Century sterling silver with 9K rose gold accents book chain style pocket watch chain with matching ball fob. Two chains of hollow curb links are parallel soldered beneath flat rose gold plated flower connection points to form a double wide fancy curb chain. Decorative gold dots also decorate each link. Hollow fob bears Etruscan design of lobes each impressed with a fleur de lis encircling a Greek key border around a flat rose gold plated flower center. No hallmarks but acid tested to be sterling silver 9-10K gold. Approximately 7-1/2” long. Weighs 18.9 grams.

As a “half Albert” type pocket watch chain, the ball fob end would be attached to the pocket watch which would go in a vest pocket. The other chain end would have a plain solid silver bar that would insert into the wearer’s vest button hole thereby providing easy accessibility & the securing chain w/ watch from loss. A “full Albert” would have a matching chain leading to a second pocket on the other side of the vest for ostentation. I don’t know what they’d put in the other little pocket. TODAY it an be worn as a bracelet with the easy addition of a spring ring clasp.
