John Thomas Carson (1520-1570).  The name Carson was first used by ancient Strathclyde-Briton people of the Scottish/English Borderlands.  The first family lived in Dumfriesshire, where the first mention of the family was of Morris Acaron, Baliff of the Isle of Man, appointed by King Alexander I of Scotland about 1100 A.D.  They are believed to be descended from the Irish Clan MacCarrghama of the Hy Fiachra and arrived on the south-west Scottish coast about the 9th century.

John Thomas Carson was born 1520 in Down, Northern Ireland, and died in Down, Northern Ireland.  He married Elizabeth Dixon (1524-1570), daughter of Robert Dixon and Marion Houston.  The genealogy of John Thomas Carson’s descendants is presented herein.  Chapters include:  John Thomas Carson (1520-1570) and Ancestors (17 generations), Hugh Keyes family (5 generations), Daniel Koups family (6 generations), Neelly/Tompkins/Hampton Families, and Joseph Whinery Family (3 generations).  A full-name index and a Photo Album of John Thomas Carson add to the value, which includes a wealth of photographs, maps, facsimile reprints of original documents, and more.
