This is a lot of eight hardcover picture books, all of which were written and/or illustrated by Jan Brett. Three of the books come in their original dust jackets. The condition of the books ranges from VG- (very good minus) to NF (near fine or near mint), with my rating scale progressing as follows: G . . G+ . . VG- . . VG . . VG+ . . NF- . . NF
A book that is in G condition will have more wear than average, but it will not have any flaws that would make it unreadable or terribly unsightly. The cover may be a little soiled and/or tanned from age and will have moderate or more edge wear. The spine may be a little faded, slanted and/or a little cocked. Clear tape may have been applied at the top or bottom of the spine to repair a small tear. There may be a name, inscription, price or bookstore stamp inside somewhere. The pages will be tight, but they may be less crisp than when new, may show some age tanning, and may have small smudges, stains and corner folds. Two or three pages may have a small edge tear. In one book it looks like a bookplate has been removed from the front free endpaper leaving a bit of paper residue, some light surface peeling, and some light glue residue.
A book that is in NF condition will be almost like new. The cover may have slight edge wear and the pages may show a little age tanning.
