The unspeakable, topics that are often kept secret that is what THE DARK UNSPOKEN have dedicated themselves to. Along these lines, the project - founded by Darkun and being native of East Westphalia-Lippe - has consequently enhanced its very own sound since 1997.

Thus, you can find influences from the 80s to the 2000s as well as from wave to dark electro. Originally planned as a solo project, THE DARK UNSPOKEN has grown into a band by now with guitarist Dirk and drummer Micha (both former members of NCOR).

The debut album "die by echoes" published in 2005, was followed by the second LP "rotten memories" in mid-2008 containing the song "You've Got The Hand" which succeeded in coming sixth place at the "Battle of the Bands" competition hosted by the well-known scene magazine Sonic Seducer earlier this year.

At the following "Battle of the Band" the boys were even able to outdo themselves. The brand-new track "Buried In Wonderland" was voted fourth place by the magazine's readers.

Live on stage TDU also knows how to satisfy their audience. Since the first energetic gig at the legendary Ballhaus Felsenkeller in Höxter in 2005, they have played cross-country (Bremen, Berlin, Gladbeck, Flensburg, Trier, ...). In general, their main focus is to sweep the audience along.

On October, 15th, the new album "Diode In Your Head?" will be released. As to content the songs deal with biased ways of thinking, ignorance and selfishness - with people who close their eyes to any kind of reasoning.

Das Unausgesprochene, Themen, die oft verschwiegen bleiben, haben sich THE DARK UNSPOKEN auf die Fahne geschrieben. Bereits seit 1997 entwickelt das von Darkun gegründete Projekt aus OWL (Ost-westfalen-Lippe) unter diesem Motto konsequent seinen ureigenen Sound weiter.

So lassen sich Einflüsse von 80ern bis 2000er sowie von Wave bis Dark Electro darin finden. Ursprünglich als Soloprojekt gestartet, ist THE DARK UNSPOKEN mit dem Gitarristen Dirk und dem Drummer Micha (beide ex-NCOR) mittlerweile zur Band herangewachsen.

Nach dem 2005 erschienenen Debut-Album "die by echoes" folgte Mitte 2008 der zweite Longplayer „rotten memories“. Mit dem darin enthalten Song „You´ve got the hand“ wurde man beim Battle of the Bands des bekannten Szenemagazins Sonic Seducer Anfang des Jahres vom Publikum auf einen starken 6. Platz ge-wählt.

Diese Platzierung konnten die Jungs beim folgenden Battle of the Bands noch einmal toppen. Der brand-neue Track „Buried in Wonderland“ wurde von den Lesern auf Platz 4 gebracht.

Auch live wissen TDU zu überzeugen. Nach dem ersten energiegeladenen Auftritt im legendären Ballhaus Felsenkeller 2005 in Höxter, hat man seitdem quer durch die Republik gespielt (Bremen, Berlin, Gladbeck, Flensburg, Trier ...). Im Focus steht dabei generell, die Zuschauer mitzureißen.

Am 15. Oktober erscheint nun das Album „Diode in your Head?", bei dem es thematisch um einseitiges Denken, Ignoranz und Egoismus - um Leute, die keine Argumente an sich heran lassen, geht.
