This listing is for a replacement Promedia 2.1 THX computer speaker amplifier for a Klipsch 2.1 system.  This amplifier works great, has a pair of upgraded components, and comes with a 90-day warranty.  This unit is intended to replace a non-working amplifier..  Not every problem with the popular ProMedia 2.1 system is due to an amplifier problem. Some systems break from damage to the control pod cable; often noticeable by the system working intermittently as the cable is flexed near its plug, or if you can see one of the pins in the plug is bent over. Others have a failing 6.5" speaker.  You can remove the metal grill, and touch the foam surround. If it is brittle or sticky or even has holes and tears in it, you know it is time to replace it. I have new replacement 6.5" 6 ohm subwoofer speakers.  Avoid a mismatched 8 ohm or 4 ohm generic replacement. 4 ohm replacements can damage the amplifier. 8 ohm replacements reduce performance by 25%.

A core return refund is available for shipping back a non-working panel (details below).

This listing is for the second generation (2012-2018) version amplifier, which does not have a power switch on the panel, nor Bluetooth).  This version is interchangeable with the first generation (produced from 2000-2018) which does have a rocker switch for power), since they use the same control pod (with a mini-DIN round 6-pin plug), are each 200 mm x 200 mm to fit the same enclosure, and connect to the same satellite speakers. (A control pod, needed for operation, is not included here).

The earlier version uses a heavier, more expensive transformer power supply and has a bit better performance, but is more expensive to refurbish. (I also have refurbished first generation ProMedia 2.1 amplifiers in my store).  That version has a power switch, so it draws 0 watts when turned off, but 18-20 watts when turned on (no volume), or 24 VA. Those panels weigh nearly 8 pounds, and have sections which get hot and char over time. This version weighs under 3 pounds and draws 10 watts when plugged in. (It stays on 24/7).

The upgrade:  I upgraded two 1/4 watt components to 1 watt versions, mounted above the panel to stay cool.  I've seen the original resistors burn up.  The amplifier runs great and is backed with a 90-day warranty.

Depending on your zip code, you may find a second or third available shipping option here is less expensive.

This system includes:

1 Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 amplifier panel

90-day warranty.

A $20 core return refund is available for a non-working panel (as long as no boards are snapped/broken). You may ship back either the old or newer version as a core. If you will be shipping back the heavier version, I recommend using a medium-size USPS priority mail flat rate box with multiple layers of cardboard for extra padding around the sides, bottom and top. The lighter version might ship at a lower cost if you do not use a flat-rate box.  By shipping your old panel for a core refund, you can avoid electronics recycling fees and give the old panel another chance to be refurbished and put to use.  Please write on the outside of the box "Core Return" and your eBay ID or first name. That will help me process your refund. If you prefer, you may use an included Fed Ex Ground return label billed to my account, and drop the box off at a Fed Ex Office. That label costs me about $18, so there is just a $2 core refund if using my label to ship the core, but the amplifier can this way likely be restored for someone else to enjoy, and can stay out of a landfill.
