UTC LS-12 Input Transformer Audio Rare Vintage "Linear Standard" Tube Audio

Maybe the ultimate DIY mic pre input transformer.
It's big and heavy (nearly 3 lb.)
It's also a masterpiece of vintage audio technology.

According to Technical Audio's website, "The design of the UTC "Linear Standard" (LS) transformer goes back to the1940s. UTC's LS designs were founded in tube audio design, and have been heralded as being one of the best lines of Hi-Fi audio transformers ever designed and manufactured."

Designed for "Low impedance mike, pickup or multiple line to PP grids"
Input: "50, 125/150, 200/250, 333, 500/600 Ohms"
Output: "80,000 Ohms overall, split"
Freq Rsponse: "20-20,000"
Max. level: "+17 dbm"

The very high output impedance gives a tremendous gain boost with a very wide response:

"UTC LINEAR STANDARD…transformers have a guaranteed response of ±1db from 20 to 20,000 cycles. For low distortion, high level units far exceed the guaranteed response and can attain ±1db from 7 to 50,000 cycles."

Thanks for looking. Have a great Audio day!
