A bronze axe of simple undecorated form with flattened top. A plain cylindrical shaft and a rectangular blade broadening towards the cutting edge. The whole with light accretions.


Luristan area of Western Persia: Iron-age: Circa 900-700 BC.


Complete and intact; a few areas of ancient corrosion now stable.


Width 8.7 cms (3.4 ins).
