The print offered here is by the renowned artist and aquatint maker, William Daniell (1769-1837).  Daniell traveled through India in the early 19th century with his uncle, the artist Thomas Daniell, and together they created a lovely work of aquatints called Oriental Scenery.  Upon his return, in 1813 William Daniell decided to make a trip following the coast of the British Isles, creating aquatints of various scenic locations.  A Voyage Round Britain became Daniell's masterpiece.

The location of this lovely hand-colored aquatint is the city of Inverness in Scotland, as the title below the image indicates.  Below the title the following is printed:  "Drawn and engraved by Will'm Daniell.  Published by W. Daniell, Cleveland Street, Fitzroy Square, London, June 1, 1821."

The print is in the collection of both the British Museum (No. 1872,1012.3247) and the Tate (No. TO2588).

This print is from my personal collection which I am beginning to sell off.  Unless noted otherwise in the description, the prints, art and other items that I sell are not "reproductions".  For example, offered maps are of the period.  Please check my other listings for additional items of interest.  I will combine shipping.
