Offered here is a small, signed pencil drawing of the Salzarhelden Castle (1251-1596) ruins in Lower Saxony in Germany.

The drawing is a well-executed, charming miniature of the castle ruins with a small town and river below.

Below the image the following is written in pencil script:  "New York May 18th, 1852  The Castle of Salzarhelden  With the regards of H. Trott".

On the reverse are various notations by the New Rochelle, New York collector, Dominick Bruzzese, including the words "very rare" and "rare".

This may be a very rare drawing as it is the only drawing, or even any mention, of an artist by the name of "H. Trott".

This drawing is from my personal collection which I am beginning to sell off.  Unless noted otherwise in the description, the prints, art and other items that I sell are not "reproductions".  For example, offered maps are of the period.  Please check my other listings for additional items of interest.  I will combine shipping.
