A very rare Gorham sterling silver child's set (knife, fork, spoon) from the last quarter of the 19th century. Featuring an aesthetic period flatware pattern with a large enameled figure (different) on each piece. The knife features a dancer with a tamborine, the fork another dancer, and the spoon a boy in a blue hat and jacket. The knife is 7 1/4", the fork 6", and the spoon 5 1/2". The set weighs 108 grams. The blade, tines, and bowl are gold washed. Each piece is marked with Gorham's lion_anchor_G mark STERLING 657. Each is engraved with the same 3-letter intertwined script monogram.

Condition: First of all, I ask that you please look at all the pictures very closely. There is substantial enamel loss on each piece. Still beautiful, but... While the pieces are not damaged beyond use, they were clearly used. Light surface scratches and some wear to gold wash. Again, please examine the pictures closely. Buying this set implies a willingness to accept condition issues to get a good price on something very rare.
