Ultima: Escape from Mount Drash - tape only for the VIC-20

This is one of the rarest Ultima titles, released only for the Vic20. Long thought to be not existant,only advertised but not published until some copies of the game came to light after all. Some with boxes and some incomplete, only the tape with the game on it.

This is one of the incomplete ones, from the former Origin Museum curated by Joe Garrity.

Joe spent years collecting and saving Origin and Ultima games and memorability, until he sold it to Raresmarket. Raresmarket began selling off a lot of the museum until I bought the remainder (without some art and all the games Raresmarket had gradedand is still selling on eBay), including this tape and lots of other stuff (Origin's Point of View newsletter, production proof prints of boxes, advertisements and so on).

As I don't have a Vic20 this game is untested, but I do have another tape I bought years ago and I compared the recording of the first few minutes and these match (see the picture of the soundwaves). Furthermore it sounds like a data tape is supposed to sound like.

Ultima: Escape from Mount Drash - nur die Kassette für den VIC-20

Dies ist einer der seltensten Ultima Spiele, der auch nur für den Vic20 veröffentlicht wurde. Lange Zeit glaubte man, dass das Spiel nur beworben, aber nie herausgebracht wurde, bis nach und nach Kopien des Spiels gefunden wurden. Manche mit der Box, manche nicht komplett, nur mit der Spielkassette.

Hierbei handelt es sich um ein nicht komplettes Spiel, das vorher zum Origin Museum von Joe Garrity gehörte.

Joe verbrachte Jahre damit Origin und Ultima Spiele, sowie andere Erinnerungsstücke, bis er sie an Raresmarket verkaufte. Raresmarket versteigerte dann Stück für Stück, bis ich den Rest von ihm aufkaufte (ohne ein paar Bilder und alle Spiel, die er graden lies und immer noch auf eBay verkauft). Unter anderem diese Kassette und noch eine Menge mehr Stücke (Origins Point of View Newsletter, Druckmuster für Spieleboxen, Werbung usw.).

Da ich keinen Vic20 habe, ist das Spiel ungetetstet, aber ich habe vor Jahren eine andere KAssette auf eBay gekauft und habe die ersten paar Minuten der Kassetten aufgenommen und erfolgreich verglichen (siehe Bild der Sounddateien). Darüber hinaus klingt die Kassette auch, wie eine Datenkassette klingen sollte.
