Painted and lacquered wood and metal box with decorative hinge interior, held together by small rivets joining the lid and base. Lid is decorated with a dinner scene with three figures at a clothed table with bread and other foods, a tree and a pitcher on a smaller table on either side. The painting has a heavy patina from age, and some loss. The interior is shiny black lacquer and the sides of exterior base are painted with gold borders, some loss to those areas as well. This box can be used for jewellery, spices, candy, art supplies, or many other things, it measures 5x6x13cm.
