The 1855 Seated Liberty half dollar is a coin that was produced by the United States Mint in 1855. It features the image of the goddess Liberty seated on a rock, holding a shield in one hand and a liberty cap on a pole in the other. The coin is made of  90% silver and 10% copper, with a diameter of 30.6mm and a weight of 13.36 grams.  It was produced from 1839 to 1891.
