Offered here is a skillfully rendered pencil drawing of a house which appears to be Moorish in style.  There is a signature to the lower right below the image that appears to be "T. Hill" or "J. Hill".  There is no date but given that there is a clear J. Whatman watermark on the wove paper on which the drawing is made, I have given a 19th century date to the piece.

While I have called the style of the structure "Moorish", it could be in that style but built somewhere like the Hudson Valley where such houses were constructed in the 19th century.

There are quite a few 19th century artists named "Hill"; I don't know which one this is.  Perhaps there is an eBayer that will recognize the signature.  (There are also initials to the left of the lower part of the image.)

The dimensions of the sheet are 6 3/4 inches in height by 10 1/4 inches in width.

This drawing is from my personal collection which I am beginning to sell off.  Unless noted otherwise in the description, the prints, art and other items that I sell are not "reproductions".  For example, offered maps are of the period.  Please check my other listings for additional items of interest.  I will combine shipping.
