A fabulous pink silk crepe evening dress from The Costume Shop at Strawbridge & Clothier of Philadelphia, from the 1930s or 1940s.  It features stunning 3-dimensional beaded birds in silver with a beaded bow in silver and white, all descending dramatically down from the right shoulder to just below the drop waist.  The draped skirt has 5 or 6 asymmetrical pleats just below the hip height.  The sleeves are long and close with snaps at the wrist.  The dress closes with a side zipper.  It has a narrow turned hem at the bottom.   There is no size label but it perfectly fits our size 8 mannequin.  We have provided detailed measurements below for you to verify the fit.

The condition is excellent especially for its age, just dry cleaned.  We note some faint uneven coloring in the pink silk in parts of the dress, a few spots from age and some loose beading in the bow (see photographs).  None of this detracts from the elegance of this dramatic evening gown.
