Yurka had  the role of Louise Dauphin in the 1959 film 
Thunder in the Sun, directed by Russell Rouse.

Yurka mentions filming in the High Sierras ,  her  "one woman"
performance in Anchorage, Alaska and ends with "I should love to see you."

Blanche Yurka was a stage and screen actress of Czech descent.

39 film and television credits.

Most famous role was as Madame Defarge in MGM's 1935 version of 
A Tale of the Cities

Other film credits include: Song of Bernadette (1944), Cry of the Werewolf (1944),
Bridge of San Luis Rey (1944).

Also an occasional director and playwright. Wrote her autobiography
"Bohemian Girl" in 1970. 




 Born: 1887, St. Paul, Minnesota; died: 1974, New York City, New York.
