A charcoal and pastel work on red paper by the popular Welsh artist Margaret Lapping and signed at foot ‘Margaret L.’ and dated ‘93’. It is entitled on the label verso ‘A cast iron pot and friends’ along with a gallery price of £240. This is the only known example of her using a red paper background when using charcoal and bodypaint. It is double-mounted, glazed and set in a faux bamboo frame 28¾” x 23½” overall, actual size of image 21” x 16½”.

Condition is good although there is a vertical fold (which could easily be ironed out) central which can be seen under some lighting conditions. Too big and heavy to post of course and I have marked it ‘collection only’ but happy to meet up with the buyer to share the journey.

A house move means I am having to downsize my collection of Welsh art but be nice if it were to stay in Wales!
