17-YEAR-OLD JOHN F. KENNEDY COPIES HIS HOMEWORK FROM HIS OLDER BEST FRIEND & ROOMMATE, LEM BILLINGS

35th President of the United States JOHN F. KENNEDY scarce and authentic handwritten 1935 Choate School Physics Lab page from his personal notebook – along with the handwritten homework of his best friend and roommate, LEM BILLINGS. As a teenager, JFK attended Choate, a prestigious private boarding school in Connecticut.

There are a number of striking similarities (and copied answers) between the two roommate's Physics Lab pages which were both found within JFK's notebook. The older Billings had presumably taken Physics ahead of JFK – and even repeated his senior year so that he and Kennedy could graduate together in 1935.

Often described as President Kennedy’s “First Friend”, Kirk LeMoyne "Lem" Billings was an American businessman known for his close and long-time friendship with John F. Kennedy and the Kennedy family. Billings was a prep school roommate of JFK at Choate, an usher at his wedding and a campaigner for his successful 1960 presidential bid. Joseph P. Kennedy Sr. called him "my second son”. Later, Billings served with Sargent Shriver as a trustee for the Kennedy family trusts.

SIGNATURIST-INK has acquired over a dozen pages from JFK's Physics notebook, found by a fellow Choate alumnus in the Spring of 1958 while rummaging in the attic of the school's Worthington Hall prior to a remodel, and retained with the permission of the Alumni Director of the School. We are one of eBay's leading sellers of authentic JFK autographs and memorabilia.
