We are incredibly fortunate to present a small number of extremely rare
Picasso prints held by the estate of a collector who started
collecting Picasso since the 1960's. All have very minor wear.
Here, offered, is a magnificent work of Picasso's titled "Nude With A Musician"
it is also known alternately known as "Serenade." This masterpiece was
originally painted by Picasso in 1942. Picasso's Cubist works are among his most
celebrated and he did many works with mandolins and in this time period
he often repeated a theme he liked or felt needed yet another perspective.
This is one of his intriguing wartime works. Here we see a musician serenade
his young lover. The cool colors give this work an unusual and almost
historical or mythological aura. As though one is looking at a fresco
in Crete or a wall carving in ancient Egypt.
Previously framed, it is still in
excellent condition with only the lightest wear.
Very light foxing on the obverse side on one end.
The colors are spectacular.
Picasso is one of the greatest artists of the 20th century. He is
perhaps the most popular among modern artists and his
works keep breaking sales records as collectors vie to
obtain them for their collections.
