He was made partner shortly thereafter and the iconic firm Parish Hadley was born. Sister passed away in 1994 and made a lasting mark on American design. The New York Times obituary noted, "Mrs Parish's six decades of decorating epitomized the rise of women in her own and other professions in 20th century America."
