The delightful watercolor offered here is a design on artist board for a menu cover with the subject being Aesop's fable of the fox and the grapes.
The watercolor is signed J. B. Rupprecht and is dated " '12 ", which, given the Art Nouveau style, I am assuming means "1912".
I have found more than one Rupprecht online and even a couple of J. B. Rupprechts, but I am unable to attribute this work to any particular illustrator or artist. I would appreciate hearing from any eBayers who have any information that might relate to the artist who made this piece.
