The print offered here is a delightful small city view of Lyon, France looking up the Rhone River toward the city.  It is entitled "Autre Vue de Lyon en Profil  Capitale du Lyonnais".

The print itself does not have any attribution to the maker or the publisher.  Someone has helpfully (I hope) written the name "N. de Fer" in pencil below the image on the left.  I would like to think that, since the handwriting is of a very old style, perhaps the cartographer, Nicolas de Fer, signed it himself.  But alas I do not have enough information to make that claim. In fact, all that I can do is attribute the engraving to Nicolas de Fer (1646-1720), the renowned French cartographer, engraver and publisher and assume that some previous owner penciled in the name for future reference.  Nor have I been able to determine which of Nicolas de Fer's many works this engraving comes from.

This print is from my personal collection which I am beginning to sell off.  Unless noted otherwise in the description, the prints, art and other items that I sell are not "reproductions".  Please check my other listings for additional items of interest.  I will combine shipping.
