Charles Magnus (1826-1900) was a German-born publisher of city views, Civil War era envelopes and illustrated song broadsides.  The item offered here is one of the latter.  It is a broadside with perhaps the most popular of Union songs, The Battle Cry of Freedom, composed by George F. Root (1820-1895).

The song lyrics are printed in bright blue ink and according to the printing at the bottom of the sheet was one of  "Ten Illustrated Songs on Notepaper, mailed to any Address on receipt of 50 Cents".  It is indeed on lined note paper, as you can see from the photo of the reverse.  The piece is in a wonderful state of preservation.

At the top, there is a hand-colored lithographic image of the "Union Batteries near Charleston, S.C."  Below the image is Magnus' name and address in New York City.  If you look online you will find other broadsides of this song with alternative images at the top.

Interestingly, in the lower left hand corner there is an ellliptical blind stamp that appears to say, when looked at from the back of the page, "Victory".  This should place the broadside at just after the end of the Civil War.

This broadside is from my personal collection which I am beginning to sell off.  Unless noted otherwise in the description, the prints, art and other items that I sell are not "reproductions".  For example, offered maps are of the period.  Please check my other listings for additional items of interest.  I will combine shipping.
