Plant Introduction

 

The smooth trunk is grey brown in colour, and supports a bright green crown. Leaves are elliptic in shape, 8-21 cm long and 5-12 cm broad, with a tapering base and blunt apex, and faintly wavy margin. Flowers are borne solitary, and are white in colour with 5 large petals, with a touch of bright yellow towards the middle, a star-shaped stigma is seen within the globose centre. Fruits are globose, 2-3 cm in diameter, green, turn orange as they ripen.
