Coalport China originally began manufacturing 

beautiful fine bone chian from its Coalport location in Shropshire, England in 1889. 

In 1967 Coalport was purchased by the Wedgewood group. 

Production of Coalport tableware was slowly phased out 

and the most important patterns were moved under the Wedgwood brand.
