A major feature of the Breitling Navi timer is that it is equipped with an aviation rotary slide rule.

This function allows you to perform multiplication and division by rotating the bezel and aligning the scale on the bezel with the scale on the dial.

It also calculates flight distance and time from the map,making it possible to make altitude corrections and calculate fuel consumption during flight. 

These have had a great influence on the design, and are one of the major features of the Navitimer.
