VICTORIAN CLEAR GLASS BASKET PATTERN

Night Light - Fairy Light . C

This is a nice Vintage Victorian Basket Pattern Clear Glass Night Light - Fairy Light.

These were produced in their 1000's at the time and had small candles put in them.  They were strung up in Gardens along Bridges etc. to produce night time light effects which gave rise to them being called fairy lights and also in Georgian and Victorian times they were also called " Vauxhall Lights " due to the 1000's used in the London Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens.

The Night Light measures approx max.  9.0 cm high x 6.0x cm wide.

See PHOTO's.

This a c.1900 Victorian CLEAR GLASS Basket Pattern Night Light made by blowing the glass into a mould and this Light is of the type with a rough top lip edge rather than the smooth lip type and a side mould seam.

There is slight brown age staining which I have not tried to remove I have only lightly wash the light.

These look nice with the sun shining through them or with a candle (Battery) Tea Light.

I am happy to do combined post on these lights.
