The chairs story.

The stool came from the historic Golden Fleece Inn

in York opposite the famous Shambles street.

After this it was part of the furnishings of the historic Tudor Lady Peckett’s Yard in York and sat on by a very large elderly bearded gentleman who would perch on it in the corner, whilst he told many a jovial story to all who would listen.

I think that it would have originally have been made for a cathedral and quite possibly York Minster.
