This is an usual piece, known as a communion cup. Carried by the individual to church (or stored at church, perhaps). There is no maker's mark, but an lengthy inscription reads "Presented to Joseph P De Youngh Fellerman from Joseph P De Youngh New York Sep 29th 1852." Condition is ok but shows a lot of use. A number of small dents on body of cup, the stem is also pushed down into the base (but evenly...or it was evened up by someone). 4 7/8" high, 2 1/4" top diameter. Weight of 64 grams.
