This is a rare British government despatch document box dating to the
late 1800s during the reign of Queen Victoria. The box is constructed
from light weight wood that has been wrapped in fine Moroccan black
leather. The top has an ornate embossed border design with a central
gold gilt Royal Coat of Arms. There is a brass push lever hardware front
that opens the box. The interior is lined with a bright green patterned
paper. Measures approximately 11.5 inches wide, 8.5 inches deep, 2
inches high. The box is in good condition with light signs of wear and
