Owners of Seiko Kinetic Watches like the one in the photo: Have you ever tried to use a traditional Box Watch Winder to wind this type of watch? If so, you know that they are woefully ineffective. The axis of rotation runs parallel to the center axis of the watch face. While this type of motion does wind many other types of watches, Seiko's Kinetic watches require a completely different axis of rotation by positioning of the watch in a specific way when mounting it.
After many hours of experimenting with various motor speeds, mounting arm attachments, and watch positioning in respect to rotation axis, we have found that the winder shown is the simplest solution at the lowest cost. The result is that a 30 minute or less run time can effectively charge a Seiko Kinetic Watch battery so that the watch will run for an average of 3-7 days without any additional motion. Longer rotation periods will provide additional days or weeks of battery charge.
Example of stand winding time vs battery charge: A 5-hour winding duration + 3 hours of wearing the watch (shown in the photo) has charged the watch's battery enough to run the watch for 34 days without being worn. Seiko recommends swinging your arm with watch 500 times for 2 days of battery charge. You can do this by walking 720 meters (0.45 miles) while swinging your arms or using this watch winder for less than 30 minutes.
List of components in assembly: Of course, watch is not included. :)
1. New, Heavy Duty, High Torque, Low Noise (42-45 db/2 feet) worm geared 12V DC reduction motor with 8mm shaft
2. 1-inch diameter aluminum motor shaft adapter (with stainless steel M4 hex drive setscrew)
3. Foam watch pad disc with center hole to mount on the shaft coupler - protects watch back from damage
3b. Elastomer adaptor ring for aluminum motor adapter (not shown) to prevent slippage between the foam watch pad disc and the aluminum adapter
4. Illuminated button (green) on/off switch - maintains illumination while motor is powered on
5. 3-millimeter-thick formed flat black-coated aluminum mounting stand with 2 mounting holes for included base mounting
6. Solid stainless-steel base (no clamp required) with 4 urethane feet to protect furniture, and two stainless-steel Phillips screws
7. 12V DC power supply (input voltage of 110-245VAC) with quick disconnect couplers and 45 inch long cable. (Extension cable use may be required) Power supply can be plugged into wall outlet with body facing up or down. (AC plug adapters may be required outside of US.)
8. Dimensions of assembly: 10 inches tall x 2 inches wide x 2.25 inches deep

Please note: The included foam disc to which the watch is mounted is designed for kinetic watches with either canvas bands with buckle straps or metal band watches. Women's metal band watches may require the foam watch pad disc to be trimmed. If you have extra large wrists, please inquire about our extra-large foam and rubber sleeve substitution at no extra cost.

Assemble the base to the stand using the two supplied Phillips screws - Then simply plug in the power supply to a 110-120V AC outlet receptacle, connect the end of the power supply cable plug to the switch wires' female plug, wrap the watch tightly around the foam tubular piece, and push this assembly onto the shaft coupler. Adjust the watch orientation as shown in the included quick startup procedure. Press the start switch and let the winding process continue for minutes or hours. The longer it winds, the more fully charged the watch battery will be.
