The EX-R Starter Box is the first Series 2 Starter Deck, released on November 23, 2000. Like all Series 2 sets, it was only released in Japan, though it formed the basis for the later Yugi and Kaiba Starter Decks in South Korea and the TCG, with all 87 cards being released in these sets. It includes all 85 cards from the previous EX Starter Box, and also includes two new cards ("Soul Exchange" and "Card Destruction").
