Old Russia Stamp Collection Used Period 1920 to 1964 Approx. 1400 Stamps (on cardboard approval cards - box included) LOT DESCRIPTION -------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is an incredible collection of old Russian stamps, covering mostly the period between 1920 and 1964. There are approximately 1400 used stamps, nicely packed in cardboard approval cards. Each approval card shows the Scott catalogue number as well as the catalog price. However, the prices must have been written 20 years ago. A quick spot check reveals that old Russian stamps have at least doubled (if not tripled) in catalogue value from what the approval cards indicate. Most stamps are used, but there are also some mint stamps. While there is a wide variety of different stamps, there are also some duplicates. Finally, many stamps appear to come in full sets, but there are also some incomplete sets (at least according to the Scott catalogue). There are many singles too.
