Here's a classic oldie; handsome, rugged, very old, rustic, heavy and ornate cast iron wall light/sconce in a great Gothic, Mission/ Arts & Crafts design, circa late 1890's to early 1900's, with lots of vintage charm and loads of character!
No one in the 'hood has anything even remotely similar to this light; that's for sure. They are hard to find, especially in great condition like this one.
Classic, bold design characteristic of the early 20th century.

I specialize in restoring these old cast iron lights as if they were for myself.

This one is very similar to my other listing 12.08.23 C except for the shade holder design.

Contoured mounting plate measures about 6.5" H x 4-5/8" W x 8" projection/depth with shade shown.

A wonderful antique fixture that remains very popular today--and these last forever with a little maintenance!
Everyone loves them!
New proprietary black, medium base porcelain socket and new wires, for safety
Multiple coats of premium black satin Rustoleum paint and clear sealer should last for years
3 Knurled brass battery head shade holder screws are a unique feature, will never rust and add a decorative touch!  No one else has these.
Shade holder holes have been tapped or retapped so screws work smoothly.
Two brass bolts hold the arm onto the mounting plate, replacing the original cheap steel ones.
Can be installed anywhere: Inside, covered porch or outside.
So adaptable; goes with any decor.
Rugged, strong cast Iron.
Comes with one 6" round white satin opaline glass shade,  as shown.  Other shade options may be available.  Message me for photos of other shades, details and availability; additional cost may apply
3.25" shade fitter
I added an extra drain hole in the shade holder, just in case.
As always, completely restored.

And they are so adaptable; you can use any glass shade with a 3.25" fitter to provide your own custom look if you like.

The key here is: it's all cleaned up....so YOU don't have to.  These are almost always disgustingly dirty and rusty when acquired, with broken/missing  parts, frightening wiring, cracks, chips, metal damage, multiple layers of gross, peeling paint and splatters, crud, terrible crusty corrosion, nasty, dangerous, rusty cracked sockets; missing/broken/chipped shades, rusted/frozen shade screws etc etc   (I know from experience!)

Are you ready to tackle all that, with all the special tools and parts required?  Probably not.

I don't sell junk, and I don't just paint over rust like so many other sellers do.  This fixture was stripped of multiple layers of old, dangerous lead-based paint and rust etc, taken down to bare metal where required; painted with multiple coats of premium Rustoleum anti-rust black satin paint and clear- coat, front and back.  It's clean and ready to have installed when you receive it.  And it's ready to paint your favorite color if so desired.

My new, fancy knurled brass shade holder screws are not found anywhere else, and won't rust like the original plain, small, cheap steel ones did (which made it nearly impossible to remove the shade when changing a burned out bulb because they rusted so badly).

While very old, it's been restored so it is in excellent vintage condition, consistent with age and use, with no issues noted, but YOU be the judge!  My opinion  may be different than yours, so ask questions BEFORE PURCHASE.  Lots of pictures to get a good look; review them carefully as they are a large part of the listing. I always encourage questions BEFORE buying, because............

I AM NO EXPERT ON THESE; I DON’T CLAIM TO BE, I DON'T KNOW EVERYTHING THERE IS TO KNOW ABOUT THEM AND I CANNOT POSSIBLY BE AWARE OF OR LIST EVERY FEATURE OR DETAIL ABOUT THEM, SO.......... ASK QUESTIONS NOW!  YOU MAY KNOW MORE ABOUT THESE THAN I DO. PERHAPS I MISSED SOMETHING; I AM ONLY HUMAN.  DON’T ASSUME ANYTHING. I WANT YOU TO BE HAPPY WITH YOUR PURCHASE; SO ASK QUESTIONS.  AGAIN, RE-READ THE LISTING DETAILS, REVIEW ALL THE PICTURES AND IF YOU ARE UNSURE ABOUT ANYTHING, ANYTHING AT ALL, ASK QUESTIONS.

WHILE MY GOAL IS TO MAKE YOU A HAPPY CUSTOMER, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ASSESS THE SUITABILITY OF THIS ITEM. LOOK AT ALL THE PHOTOS AND LISTING DETAILS INCLUDING MEASUREMENTS/DIMENSIONS ETC TO ENSURE IT FITS YOUR NEEDS BEFORE BIDDING OR PURCHASING.

Age, from research, is believed to be fairly accurate but is not guaranteed. Actual age unknown; there are no date stamps on these. Please do your own due-diligence if this is a concern.
Mounting screws/hardware is not included. YOU WILL RECEIVE WHAT IS SHOWN IN THE PICS.

BULB IS NOT INCLUDED.  YOUR MEDIUM BASE LED BULB IS REQUIRED
All measurements approximate.

Other shade options are available.  Message me for details.
I'M ALSO LISTING SEVERAL OTHER SIMILAR FIXTURES.  CHECK THEM OUT.

I AM WORKING ON A MATCHING FIXTURE WHICH SHOULD BE READY SHORTLY IF YOU NEED A PAIR.

No one makes anything like this nowadays.  What you do find in retail stores is imported reproduction junk.  Don't waste your time and money.  Antique lighting made in the USA remains the "gold standard".

I’ll do my best to see that you are not disappointed but be sure all your questions have been answered prior to bidding or purchase because, like all my items, these are SELLING AS IS; ALL SALES FINAL, NO RETURNS OR REFUNDS.

This fixture was rebuilt using either 16 or 18 gauge wire which is safe for most applications, however, it is impossible for me to know your particular situation, so, to be completely safe, you should have an experienced, professional electrician install it .
Shade shown is a reproduction. Original shades were always broken or missing.

SHIPPING:
Shipping shown is a rough estimate only. I list too many items; on several different sites, to find a box, pack and weigh each one, then find warehouse space for large boxes (which I don’t have) prior to sale, but no worries; I don’t make any money on shipping, I only charge what the shipper charges me and any excessive packing materials required.  Some shipping costs may seem high, especially if the item(s) is fragile in nature and/or you live a long distance from Atlanta. Extra care is required to keep the item safe during shipping and I sometimes use a larger than normal box(es), double boxing and additional packaging material etc. Shades may be shipped separately.  Fixtures may be shipped in separate boxes due to weight. Any excess shipping paid will be refunded, of course!  If you need clarification about my shipping policy please contact me. By purchasing this item, you are agreeing to the above.
If you need special shipping features such as signing on delivery, expedited shipping etc, please contact me before payment as this will increase the shipping cost. Shipping quoted DOES NOT include any special delivery instructions or handling, signing etc

I personally examine everything listed in my store and describe it to the best of my ability, with my (sometimes) limited knowledge about the item(s). I’m selling antiques and what I see as ‘normal aging’, someone else may see as a flaw. It is not possible to point out every detail on every item. If you are unclear about quality, age or condition of any of our items, PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BUYING.

THANK YOU for your interest in my Listings!
