AKARI is a lighting sculpture made of high-quality Japanese paper by world-renowned sculptor Isamu Noguchi.

In the 1950s, Isamu Noguchi visited Gifu City to observe cormorant fishing and designed Gifu lanterns as part of the city's efforts to revitalize local industry.

The AKARI is a symbol or a numeral that is used in the design of Gifu lanterns.

He used symbols and numbers for AKARI, and over the course of his life, he designed more than 200 different lighting sculptures.

AKARI is not only a lighting fixture, but also a lighting sculpture.

Isamu Noguchi believed that AKARI was not just a lighting fixture, but a "work of art.

Isamu Noguchi believed that AKARI was not just a lighting fixture, but a "work of art.

The "D" on the 55D stands for "bullshit.

The "D" stands for "Bullshit," which Isamu Noguchi named after the randomly woven bamboo strips.

In reality, of course, they are not "random," but rather well balanced.

There is also a "55A" model of the same size, but with a different weave of bamboo strips.

The "D series" is one of the most popular pendant shade models.

It can be used in a Japanese-style room as well as in a Western-style room to give a more modern impression.

It also matches with Scandinavian interiors.

The length of the cord can be selected to match the environment in which it will be used.

Socket cords (with light bulbs) are sold separately.

Please use genuine OZEKI cords for this shade.

If you use other fixtures, the metal fittings may not be compatible.

In this case, please note that we cannot accept the return of the product.

About the Japanese paper used for AKARI.
