Axial SCX24 Warm White Headlights, Warm White Reverse lights and Red Taillights to give your crawler a more authentic look! 1940's didn't have HID Halogens!
Headlights and Red tailights are always on. White reverse lights come on when reversing. Very cool!
This includes a set of 6 LED lights that plug into your receiver. Wired long enough to hinge with the body, like the original.
How we installed ours:
Remove lens from stock headlight (use a toothpick or other suitable item to depress lens holder on side of headlight, pop out lens)
While holding the back of the black headlight, use a blunt object to carefully push the stock LED out of the headlight toward the rear of the vehicle
Thread stock headlight through the body (or cut it off)
Cut a slit in or enlarge the hole in the plate that holds the driver so that you can either slip the wires through or fit the new/larger ESC connector through
Thread wire through the hinge on the rear of the body
Thread new LED through the body and out the cab hole.
Keeping the wires straight, feed the wires out of the cab and behind the headlight holder.
Carefully push new headlight into black headlight holder
Using a small needle nose pliers, small flat head screwdriver, etc carefully bend the LED wires while gently pulling the wires back into the body. Use caution to not crush or break the resistor on the red wire. Use caution to not break any wires. We have done many light installs and have not had any issues but you do have to be cautious and gentle.
Reinstall headlight lenses
Tape rear light wires against tail gate or truck bed to hold lights in place
Glue or tape Red LEDs into red rear tail light lenses. E6000 and Shoe Goo work well for this. Lenses can pop out easily so we use glue.
Glue or tape Warm White LEDs into clear rear tail light lenses.
Plug lights into the receiver in the slot marked Rev (you can usually see the R from the front of the vehicle without removing the ESC). Be sure the yellow wire is on top.
