Eddie Van Halen Frankenstrat Miniature Guitar Replica By Axman
When the
first Van Halen album was launched on an unsuspecting Rock world in 1979
it created a wave of excitement among guitar players the like of which
hadn't been 'experienced' since a young Jimi Hendrix had emerged in the
late 60s.
Edward Lodewijk Van Halen was born to Dutch-American parents in January
1955 and, with his brother Alex on drums, Mark Stone on bass, (later
replaced by Michael Anthony), and David Lee Roth on vocals, he founded
the seminal band Van Halen.
Edward (Eddie) Van Halen's explosive guitar playing was the most earth
shattering development in Rock guitar in well over a decade and his
style spawned a million clones and copyists. One of the essential
ingredients in Van Halen's sound was his unique guitar. The
unique finish of the Guitar was created by painting over strips of
masking tape that had been applied to the body, removing them and
repeating the process with different colours until the criss-cross
striped effect had been achieved. Later versions of the Guitar had
different coloured stripes, but the original guitar was the red and
white coloured design.
For a guitarist who has topped every guitar playing poll there is and
was voted Number 1 in the Top 100 Guitarists Of All Time, it's safe to
say that he has earned back the meagre construction costs of the guitar,
and then some!
