Vintage 1970s, VERA Neumann hand rolled Long Silk Scarf geometric abstract black and brown design. This lovely scarf measures 52" long and 10 1/2" wide. Light, flowing, smooth silk with clear print. Vera Neumann, known for her 8000+ designs for not only scarves but other clothing pieces, linens, dishes, wall paper and umbrellas, many of which are part of the collection at the Museum of Modern Art (NYC). She started designing in the late 40s and continued until her death in 1993. She is also identified by the ladybug signature that appeared on many of her designs in the 60s. In the 70s, her designs were copyrighted and this was reflected in the copyright symbol added to her signature during that decade - shown here. This scarf is in very good condition, no tears, snags or damage to the silk or rolled edges. Lovely to wear or frame it to transform it into modern wall art.
