Antique German porcelain salt box or cellar in the blue onion pattern with its original wood-hinged lid. It has a couple of molded raised lines around the box to give it a barrel look. A hole at the top for hanging on the wall, although it can rest on a counter as well. Marked on the bottom with late 1800's or early 1900's distributor's sign (GMT & Bro.). The item is approx. 8-5/8" high x 7-1/8" to the corners of the wood lid x 4-1/2" deep. Nice condition: great color and no cracks. A couple of minor chips in the areas of most use (as shown in photos) and signs of wear on the bottom. See photos as they constitute part of description.
