Zokoku-nuri
Tamakaji Zōkoku was the founder of Sanuki lacquerware, a first-generation genius who left behind numerous masterpieces and created the artistic foundations of today's Sanuki lacquerware. This Zoya lacquerware was created by the old man through a comprehensive study of Chinese and Japanese lacquering methods. The lacquer is sprinkled with pollen from the Komogaya trees that grow in clusters around the Tone River, creating an elegant shadow that creates a literati style that deeply interests the viewer.
