This is a study of the ancient Egyptian Wall art. It looks at Egyptian history through the both the lens of the Western Culture and that of the Egyptians. The first part analyzes the technology, techniques, history and culture of Egyptian art. The second compares monumental works across different periods and places.

The book is illustrated with 350 color plates. Many are full-page; printed on matte paper to simulate the feel of the stuccoed limestone on which the original works were painted on.
