Please note the flowers fade to a lighter pink, new flowers are darker. Imagine a hot Summer's day, sitting in a deckchair, "daydreaming", listening to the gentle sound of bees on your beautiful Cosmos! The plants grow multi-branched and you can expect plenty of flowers from each plant. These tall, showy Cosmos Daydream are certainly well worth growing from seed. The pale candy pink flowers will soon be dancing in the breeze! Plant several Cosmos together for maximum impact. Cosmos are easy to grow and they will bring interest to your garden. You will find that few half-hardy annual plants can match Cosmos. These reliable flowers will brighten your garden from July through to late October/November or first frost - from an early sowing and depending, of course, on a mild Autumn. The wonderful flowers are quite large and the foliage is feathery and pretty. The plants will grow happily in a sunny position. If you can bear to pick them they make beautiful cut flowers. Remember to dead head your plants to encourage more flowers. Approx height 110-140cm.
Sowing: Indoors Late February to Early May, Outdoors in May
Sow indoors Late February to early May. Sow the seeds thinly in pots or cell trays filled with damp seed compost. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of sieved seed compost. Place in a greenhouse, propagator or indoors on a window sill. Cover with glass or clingfilm but remove this when the seedlings appear. Keep soil damp but not soaked. Germination takes 7-14 days with a temperature ideally 17-20c warmth is needed for germination. If seeds have been sown in seed trays, when large enough, transplant the young plants into 9cm pots and grow on in a cooler temperature. In May, when the plants are a good size, acclimatise them to outdoor temperatures for a week or so before planting out into the flower beds 40-50cm apart, or in patio pots and containers - preferably in a sunny position. Pinch out the growing tip of each plant to encourage bushy growth and more flowers! Protect the plants from frost. Keep watered but not soaked.
Outdoors: It is preferable to sow the seeds indoors but seeds can also be sown outdoors early May, but not until frost has finished.

Your seeds will be packed in a manilla/grip seal packet and they will be posted by 1st Class Post in a protective padded envelope, with growing instructions.
